Dietary recommendations for Dengue

Here are a few hot and soothing herbal health drinks for you. Although these work the best in recovering from Dengue fever, and also are natural immune booster. So it would be a great aid towards the prevention of all types of fever.

HERBAL TEA

Serving size: 1                                                Preparation time: 15 mins

 Ingredients

 Amount

 Jaggery

 10g

 Mint leaves (crushed)

 4-5

 Basil leaves (crushed)

 4-5

 Fennel seeds

 ½ teaspoon

 Gudduchi (Giloy) leaves (crushed)

 2 teaspoons

 Lemon juice

 1 teaspoons

Method:

  • Boil 200 ml of water.
  • Add jaggery to it and allow melting completely.
  • Simultaneously add crushed mint, basil and gudduchi leaves to it.
  • Put a half teaspoon of fennel seeds and lemon juice and allow boiling until only 100ml water remains.
  • Strain and serve fresh.

 

TANGY HOT DRINK

Serving size: 1                                                Preparation time: 10 mins

 Ingredients

 Amount

 Ginger

 1 small piece

 Lemon zest

 ¼ teaspoon

 Pepper powder

 2 pinches

 Cinnamon powder

 1 pinch

 Lemon grass

 5-10gm

Method:

  • Heat 200ml of water in a pot.
  • Add crushed ginger, lemon zest and lemon grass to it.
  • Stir for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add pepper powder, cinnamon powder.
  • Allow to boil for a minute and strain it.
  • Your piping hot drink is ready to serve!

 

SOUP FOR THE SOUL:

Serving size: 1                                                Preparation time: 20 mins

 Ingredients

 Amount

 Carrot

 2 whole roots

 Beetroot

 1 whole root

 Tomato

 1 (medium size)

 Pepper powder

 1 pinch

 Rock salt

 1 pinch

 Ginger juice

 1 teaspoon

Method:

  • Boil carrot, beetroot and tomato in 100ml water for 10mins.
  • Blend well and strain.
  • In a pot add the blended mixture and heat.
  • Add seasoning like pepper powder & rock salt.
  • Boil for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add a teaspoon of Ginger juice and serve.
