Post Panchkarma (Post Detox) Diet

Our modern day diet has vivid options with new trending fusion foods. Diet is basically the fuel to our life and it is also a treat to our taste buds. Diet on daily basis should be nutritive, balanced, seasonal and most important psychologically satisfying to a person; but in the post Panchkarma or detoxification food is expected to meet some specific needs and it must imply some basic rules. Following are the qualities of Post Detox or Panchakarma diet:

  • Replenishing energy
  • Maintain and replenish fluids
  • Easy and quick to digest
  • Balancing the Doshas (bodily humors)
  • Help regain appetite
  • Shadrasatmak (Having Six Tastes)

Some Ayurvedic diet preparations

  • Mand (Laja Mand)

 

Ingredients:

Popcorn of Rice:  20 gm

Water:  280 ml

Ginger, Marich, Ajwain: Pinch

Salt, Sugar:  As per the Taste

Procedure:

Boil the Popcorn of rice in 14 time water till it gets well cooked.

Filter the Mixture & collect the filtrate.

Add ginger, marich , ajwain, Salt etc

  • Peya

Ingredients

Coarse powder of Rice – 40 gm

Water- 560ml

Procedure:

Boil the rice in 14 time water till it gets well cooked. Then filter the water for consumption

 

  • Yavagu

Ingredients:

Rice:   20 gm

Moong (Green Gram): 20 gm

Water: 240 ml

Tamarind, Ajwain : Pinch

Salt, Sugar:  As per the Taste

Procedure:

Boil the rice in 14 time water till it gets well cooked.

 

  • Yush

Ingredients:

Whole Moong (Green Gram): 40 gm

Water: 320 ml

Ginger, Marich, Ajwain : Pinch

Salt, Sugar:  As per the Taste

Procedure:

Boil the rice in 14 time water till it gets well cooked.

 

  • Manth

Ingredients:

Dates: 20 gm

Dry grapes: 20 gm

Kokum: 10 gm

Tamarind: 10 gm

Sugar, Salt, Ajwain: As per the Taste

Procedure:

Squeeze and keep in hot water till it gets lukewarm.
